DIY Vitamin C Sheet Mask

Vitamin C powder is one of the most effective ingredients skin care DIYers can utilize. The skin benefits of vitamin C are endless and cover almost all skin concerns you might have. From promoting collagen production to fading brown spots, vitamin C is an anti aging tool you’re going to love. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to incorporate into your beauty routine.

Today, I’m going to share with you my favorite way to face mask. Sheet masks are a fun and easy way to benefit from Vitamin C. Plus, sheet masks are incredibly hydrating and making them at home will not only boost your skin health but save your budget!

Skin Benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also known as L. Ascorbic Acid helps produce collagen in the skin.  The more collagen skin contains, the younger and less wrinkled skin looks. Collagen decreases greatly as we age.  Vitamin C also helps fade age and sun spots and is also a powerful antioxidant which attacks free radicals in the skin that are causing the skin to age prematurely.

  • Encourage collagen and elastin production
  • Fade sun and age spots
  • Brighten skin tone
  • Improve skin texture
  • Regenerate skin cells
  • Restore hydration

Skin Benefit of Aloe Vera Gel:

Aloe is a fantastic moisturizer if you have oily skin. It is oil free and full of skin hydrating properties.

When applied to the skin, aloe vera gel has been shown to help fight bacteria, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing.

Aloe vera contains lupeol, salicylic acid, urea nitrogen, cinnamonic acid, phenols, and sulfur, all of which kill bacteria that might cause acne.

Glycerin:

I like to add glycerin to sheet masks because it gives the typical feel of over the counter sheet masks. It attracts moisture to your skin and locks it in. It’s a fantastic additive for sheet masks but it’s not 100% necessary.

DIY Vitamin C Sheet Mask

I think you’re going to love making DIY sheet masks at home. Sheet masking is so incredibly effective to be so affordable and easy! You can spend 100s of dollars buying sheet masks so DIYing them just makes perfect sense! Plus, adding vitamin C to your anti aging arsenal is a great idea but because vitamin C powder is very unstable it can be tricky to successfully obtain all the benefits. Making a DIY vitamin C mask not only gives you an immediate boost, it also ensure the upmost freshness and effectiveness!
