I love the looks of the 60’s.  I always have.  There’s nothing that screams MOD louder then a thickly lined upper lash line with a flick at the end!  I mean, Audrey Hepburn did it best-what a look!  If you are looking for a feminine “doe eyed” look with a bit of an edge, you’ll like this look!  Unfortunately, it is not the easiest makeup trend to re-create!  It takes a bit of practice but the good thing is, the black line can be thick so perfecting it is doable.

For a typical “cat eye”, you apply the black line to the middle to outer 1/2 of the bottom lashes.  Because I’m always looking to make my eyes look bigger, I left out the liner on the bottom and just used mascara to define my lower lashes.  So, let’s dig right in-there’s little to say so I’m hoping my pictures give you the visual you need to recreate this look on yourself!

What I used:

• Black liner (find it HERE)
• Nude liner (find it HERE)
• Primer (find it HERE)
• Eye Shadow (find it HERE)
• Blush (find it HERE)
• Foundation (find it HERE)
• Lipstick (find Angelic Nude HERE)
• Mascara (find it HERE)

Directions:

1. I applied a primer to my lids because I want this look to stay put and I love how smooth my shadow goes on on top.  This is totally optional.  Honestly, Tarte sent me a sample of their face primer so I decided to use it for this tutorial.  I really like it and have been using it all over-It “blurs” imperfections!!
2. Apply a nude shadow over the lid to help further set you liner and shadow then apply eye shadow as usual.  Go HERE and HERE for a couple of eye shadow tutorials.
3. Draw a line starting from the outer corner of your eye, focusing upwards.  Go out as far as you want your “wing” to be.
4. Line the upper lid, starting at the inner corner and working your way out.  Connect the line to the end of the original line (wing).
5. Fill in between the 2 lines.
6. Finish up with a THICK coat of mascara or falsies to complete the look!

>>>Optional-If you really want to go for a 60’s look-“twig” out your bottom lashes without leaving a black line in your lash line.  I also use a nude liner on my bottom tear line to make my eyes brighter and bigger!<<<

This look can be tricky if you have a hooded eye.  Unless you like to accentuate your hooded eye, be sure to shadow over the brow bone to recede the “hood”.  Also, this look can be created using a small angled brush and a dark shadow for a softer look!  You also can create a softer look with an eye pencil rather then a liquid liner.  A regular eye liner pencil can be smudged with a q-tip for less harsh look!
