Witch Hazel never ceases to amaze me. I love the stuff. It has so many uses. Plus, it is super affordable! I always us Thayers Witch Hazel because it is alcohol free and organic. They have so many different witch hazels to choose from you are sure to find one that fits the needs of your skin.
Witch Hazel is anti bacterial and antiseptic. It also has powerful anti inflammatory, astringent and healing properties. It has been used for centuries by Native Americans who knew how beneficial this herb is to the skin. Witch Hazel has a tightening quality that helps “tone” the skin. It also is excellent to help bring the skin back into balance after cleansing. When used 1-2 times daily, it can help reduce inflammation due to puffy eyes and/or blemishes. It is also so useful for cuts and scrapes, ditch the alcohol and use the witch hazel! In my opinion, everyone should own a bottle of witch hazel whether it be for your medicine cabinet or your beauty cabinet or both!

How to Use Witch Hazel:
- Use witch hazel after cleansing and before moisturizing.
- Spray directly on the skin or dampen a cotton pad and swipe over the skin.
- For treatment of burns, bruises, hemorrhoids, or scrapes, I would suggest adding to a spray bottle and spraying witch hazel to the effected area.
When purchasing witch hazel, always make sure it does not contain alcohol. Witch Hazel can be naturally drying and when alcohol is added, it is very harsh for the skin. Of course find one that is free of parabens and propylene glycol. I always look for certified organic witch hazel that contains purified water. It should be un-distilled. I typically just stick to Thayers. I have never been disappointed with any of their many witch hazel options! They add organic aloe from the inner filet of the plant in each of their witch hazels to enhance the healing ability of the products and also to counteract the possible drying effect it can have on certain skin types.
