DIY Rejuvenating PURE Facial Oil

Face oils are one of the best products you can incorporate into your beauty regime. They are so much more powerful than a cream because they don’t contain water. Not to mention, DIY face oils are incredibly easy to make! Today’s recipe is pure, rejuvenating and one of my favorite recipes for anti aging. It contains some of the most effective, natural ingredients that will smooth fine lines and wrinkles as well as quench thirsty skin!

Face Oils vs. Face Creams

I want to talk a bit today about face oils.  Many of you go nuts over a cream/moisturizer recipe-I get it.  Creams contain water which acts as a vehicle to transport the oil into the pores-does that make any sense?  Basically, when you add water to oil and emulsify it into a cream, you get a moisturizer that absorbs almost immediately.  Plus, who doesn’t love a fluffy white, luxurious cream to slather on your skin?!

Well, you might be wondering what my point is-My point is that creams are extremely watered down.  Plus they contain preservatives as well as emulsifiers.  Many commercial creams are loaded with chemicals to perfect texture and even appearance of the cream.  All of these ingredients that are needed just to make a cream do nothing good for your skin-and I mean NOTHING.

Don’t get me wrong-I too, love a good face cream but the best thing you can do for your skin is to use a simple face oil.

When you invest in pure, quality oils and add essential oils as well, you have an amazing moisturizer and treatment for your skin.  A face oil cuts out all the many “middle men” and feeds your skin potent and effective “food”.

The good news is, face oils could not be easier to make.  There is no heating involved which is another reason face oils are so  good for your skin.  Often, heating an oil will damage it’s healing and rejuvenating properties.

DIY Face Oil Benefits

I want to share with you my favorite combo. for a DIY face oil.  I believe this is one of the best oils/serums you will find and plus it’s so easy to make!!

This face oil will not only infuse your skin with natural oils that will calm and nourish your skin. It will also help reduce the signs of aging as well as improve the overall tone of your skin.

This product is perfect for all skin types all though, if you are prone to clogging, proceed cautiously-there is a chance this oil could be too rich and could cause breakouts. You might want to check out my face oil recipe formulated for oilier skin types.

DIY Face Oil Ingredients

Rosehip Seed is one of my favorite oils to use in my anti aging DIYs. Rosehip seed has a load of anti aging benefits and I have quite a few DIYs that contain rosehip seed oil. Also, carrot seed essential oil is one of the most powerful essential oils when it comes to rejuvenating skin cells and beatifying skin.

A good quality meadowfoam is impossible to find. Mountain Rose Herbs (my ingredient company of choice) no longer carries it and the alternative on Amazon might not be the best quality. A good substitute for meadowfoam is sweet almond oil.

Geranium Essential Oil is one of my favorite anti aging essential oils due to it’s brightening and balancing properties. Carrot seed essential oil is a great oil to help heal and regenerate damaged skin cells. Cypress essential oil has incredible astringent abilities and lavender is high in antioxidants and helps accelerate healing!

DIY Rejuvenating Face Oil

  • 2 tbsp. Rosehip Seed Oil (find it HERE)
  • 2 tbsp. Meadowfoam Seed Oil (find it HERE)
  • 1/4 tsp. Vitamin E Oil (find it HERE)
  • 5 drops Geranium Essential Oil (find it HERE)
  • 2 drops Carrot Seed Essential Oil (find it HERE)
  • 7 drops Lavender Essential Oil (find it HERE)
  • 2 drops Cypress Essential Oil (find it HERE)

All you have to do is mix these oils and you’re done!  I don’t use measuring spoons for a recipe like this-I just fill my bottle 1/2 way full with each oil (meadowfoam and rosehip), leaving a bit of space for the vitamin e and the essential oils-super simple.

I used a 1 ounce glass amber bottle-find them HERE.  It is important to store your oils in glass bottles so that the essential oils will not react to plastic.

This DIY face oil oil has a 6 mos. shelf life and can be used morning and night.

LESS IS MORE with face oils.  Only use 5-8 drops at a time or you will be greasy and the oil will not absorb properly!

Remember-Your face oil is only as effective as your ingredients are pure.  I have linked pure, organic oils in the above recipe.  Be sure to stay organic!!

xx, Jenni
