DIY Aloe Cucumber Toner with Chlorophyll!

DIY Aloe Toner

I talked about the insane benefits of adding chlorophyll to your water.  Well, while I was doing research on chlorophyll, I read that it is even beneficial to use it topically as well as internally.  The problem is that it’s very green!  I got the idea to add it to my new DIY toner mainly to tint the toner.  So today, I’m sharing my recipe for my DIY toner with cucumber and chlorophyll.

Lately, I’m all about making unique products that are naturally pretty-like my hibiscus toner that is pink!

I say that to say, I’m not really boasting the topical benefits of chlorophyll because I only used 1 drop in this 2 oz. toner.  Because chlorophyll is green and comes from plants, I let that inspire me when choosing the ingredients for this new DIY.   However, you possibly will get the healing benefits of chlorophyll in your toner.  Just not enough to call it a chlorophyll toner.

As with most toners, this recipe is quick and simple.  I chose cucumber hydrosol, lemon witch hazel and aloe vera gel for the base of this toner.  Each ingredient brightens, hydrates and de-puffs skin.

My essential oil choice is a blend of cypress, geranium and lavender.  I love cypress oil for it’s tightening abilities plus it’s fresh scent pairs well with most oils.  Geranium is an amazingly beautifying oil with it’s ability to even and smooth the appearance of skin.  Lavender is calming yet kills bacteria and reduces inflammation.

To Use:

  • Use morning and night after cleansing the skin.
  • Follow up with a serum and/or face oil.

**The shelf life of this DIY toner is about 1 month.  I’ve used ingredients that are already preserved plus I’ve added essential oils which are antibacterial and anti fungal.  However, I like to make small batches so they are fresh and safe.**

I have linked all the ingredients that I can vouch for. I’ve used each ingredient and know that if you use what I suggest, you will have a high quality product.

Toners are a necessary part of our skin care regime. The neatest fact about toners is that they help moisturizers (facial oils in particular) penetrate faster and deeper!  Toner also serves as a hydrator and helps balance the pH of your skin after cleansing which is imperative for balanced, happy skin!

This DIY toner is so light and refreshing and will take me to the end of summer. I love the fresh scent of cucumber and when combined with this particular essential oil blend the scent has gone to the next level!

xx, Jenni
